Bagnalls were proud recipients of two awards at the Painting & Decorating Association's Annual Trophy Awards in London yesterday.
They were commended for their exquisite decorative work undertaken at the Brontë Parsonage Museum, which required careful application of bespoke wallpapers, hand printed to replicate the designs of the 19th century and painting in various colours of Distemper. All paints were brush applied to add to the authenticity of the finish. The project was managed on a daily basis by one of their Heritage craftsman painters, with 40 years experience in the industry. Ann Dinsdale, our Collections Manager attended the awards dinner and was delighted with the project's success.
They were also very highly commended for the external painting works delivered at the National Trust's Souter Lighthouse, on the North East coast. The lighthouse itself needed to be fully scaffold to allow safe access. However, continuation of works was weather dependent and during high winds works had to be stopped as access onto the scaffold was not permitted in the interests of safety. The superb finish ensures that this landmark lighthouse continues to be a major attraction for future generations.
