Summer Holiday Activities
The Summer Holidays are now in full swing and we have plenty in store for the whole family to enjoy. Tour de France coverage broadcast the scenic landscape of Yorkshire into peoples' sitting rooms and so in celebration of our local countryside we are choosing landscape as our theme for our summer family activities.
Come and explore the moors above the Brontë Parsonage Museum through arts and crafts this summer holiday. There will be three Family Drop-In workshops taking place suitable for all ages. Free to museum visitors.
Landscapes in felt - Wednesday 6th August
We will look at the colour and textures of the landscape and, using pure wool tops dyed in Bradford, make wet felted pictures incorporating a variety of yarns and threads.
Moorland in Miniature - Saturday 16th August
Not only can you walk and explore the same moorland paths that the Brontë children would have played on but also create your own miniature moorland garden in a plate to take home.
Wax Painting - Wednesday 20th August
You can try your hand at Encaustic Wax Painting. This is a fascinating and easy way to create a stunning moorland scene using mini irons and coloured wax blocks.
