A free Tuesday talk
Patrick Brontë was a man with a social conscience, and this drove him to engage not only with some of the national and international causes of his day such as the abolition of slavery and the Poor Law, but more mundane issues closer to home. This talk looks at Patrick’s campaigning in Yorkshire for a better life for his parishioners, from fundraising for the foundation of a Sunday school to the production of the fascinating Babbage report.
Free with admission to the Museum.
