Top tips and advice from children's book agent Clare Wallace.
For our first event, we welcome Clare Wallace to share her work as a children’s book agent, discussing her career, what an agent does, and advice on submitting work.
Clare will give her top tips for creating a great submissions package, and there’ll be an opportunity to ask questions. This session is perfect for aspiring or early career writers, or those interested in hearing more about publishing.

Clare Wallace is MD at the Darley Anderson Children’s Book Agency and has been working with Darley Anderson since 2011. She represents all age ranges, from picture books right through to YA, crossover, and adult fiction.
Clare’s clients have been Sunday Times and New York Times bestsellers, Irish Book Award winners, shortlisted for the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize, been picked as Waterstone’s Children’s Book of the Month, shortlisted for the Branford Boase, and nominated, longlisted, and shortlisted for the Carnegie, to name a few, with many titles adapted for or in development for the screen.
In 2024, she was shortlisted for Agent of the Year by the British Book Awards.
