There's room to relax with little ones, with hands on activities, sensory objects, and books available. Sophia will deliver storytelling sessions and activities throughout the day. Just call in - no need to book!

Sophia Hatfield is a storyteller, performer, theatre-maker, creative facilitator, and mum. Originally from Bingley, Sophia toured the UK for almost 20 years as a theatre actor and musician for companies including Northern Broadsides, The New Vic, M6, and Birmingham Rep, before establishing her practice as a theatre maker and writer.
Sophia’s creative practice now centres around original theatre, workshops, and storytelling experiences for community, library, and museum spaces, and she's currently Storyteller in Residence at the Brontë Parsonage Museum. Her storytelling collection, ‘This House is Full of Stories’, takes inspiration from the imaginations and inner lives of the Brontë children, the servants who helped care for them, and the wealth of Yorkshire folktales that inspired their writing.
Sophia is now developing a new performance piece, ‘Learning to Play’, as part of her residency, exploring how storytelling and play can help navigate early experiences of parenthood and caring.
