Celebrating the work of Layla Khoo
Saturday 23rd April, 1pm-3pm.
Join us for an event with Layla Khoo, artist and creator of 'Contemplating Hope'.
'Contemplating Hope' is a new work commissioned for the Brontë Parsonage Museum; it features a series of carefully crafted ceramic vessels into which visitors are invited to post a slip of paper containing their hopes and dreams for the future.
This event will see Layla talk about the inspirations and process for creating
Contemplating Hope, including a showing of test pieces, drawings and sketches used.
The workshop will include a demo on slipcasting ceramic bottles, and an activity on creating a "message in a bottle". Participants will be led to write their own contemplation and seal it in a porcelain ceramic bottle to take home.
Tickets cost £8. Please book online or call 01535 640188 to secure your place. Any questions, please email Sassy Holmes on sassy.holmes@bronte.org.uk.
