The Brontë Lounge presents…Moira Buffini, Thursday 22 April at 7.30pm
 
April’s Brontë Lounge guest is writer, playwright and showrunner Moira Buffini.
 
In this zoom event, taking place the day after Charlotte Brontë's 205th birthday, Moira will talk to our host Helen Meller about the process of adaptation, and how she wrote the screenplay for the acclaimed 2011 film of Jane Eyre, which was directed by Cary Fukunaga and starred Mia Wasikowska and Michael Fassbender.

Moira's plays include Handbagged and the Tricycle and in the West End; Manor, wonder.land, Welcome to Thebes and Dinner at the National Theatre and Loveplay for the RSC. In addition to Jane Eyre (2011), she has written the screenplays for The Dig (2021), Byzantium (2012) and Tamara Drewe (2010). She is co-creator and showrunner of three seasons of the Hulu/BBC TV series Harlots.

 
 
 

 
Tickets cost £6 and the event will start at 7.30pm UK time (BST) 
 
This event will take place via zoom.  It is a live event and will not be recorded.
