Charlotte, Emily and Anne Brontë are known to have explored the wild landscapes just beyond the Parsonage.

If you're able to, we recommend packing your boots, taking a map, and walking in the footsteps of the sisters to experience the places that so inspired their writing.

There are many beautiful walks near Haworth - some of which can be started from the Brontë Parsonage Museum itself - including to Top Withins (which many believe inspired Wuthering Heights), Ponden Kirk and the Brontë Waterfall. The Visit Bradford website has more information on local walking routes.

The Brontë Way passes a number of locations that Brontë enthusiasts may recognise. You can join the path at different points if you don't fancy attempting all 43 miles! Find out more about the Brontë Way here.
