Join us for a day of creativity and inspiration as we share Emily Brontë’s love of art, landscape, nature and poetry in this mixed media workshop led by local artist Anji Timlin. The day will include a walk up Penistone Hill and all art materials will be provided. No experience required – just an interest in the natural world and how it shapes our creativity!

Here’s what you can look forward to:
10.30am-11amIntroduction to the day. We’ll explore Emily’s art, poetry and love of nature. Anji will share how she works outside and help you to connect with this landscape as Emily did. We’ll then make our own personal visual response.
11am-12.15pmArmed with our art materials, we’ll head up Penistone Hill, exploring and discussing the Pennine landscape, rocks, plants and wildlife. We’ll keep our eyes open for ‘gifts’ from nature to make marks and wild brushes. We’ll do some sketching on the hill and share techniques, helping you collect information to work from inside later.
12.15pm-1.45pmLunch break. Feel free to bring your own or enjoy one of the many independent cafés in Haworth!
1.45pm-4pmWe’ll spend the rest of the afternoon inside, where Anji will help you to make an individual piece of mixed media art, inspired by your experience of Emily Brontë’s landscape. Lastly, we’ll gather together to have a chat about the day and share the work we’ve made.

Please note, this ticket is only refundable if the event is cancelled, in which case we’ll contact you. We reserve the right to make changes to our programme. All information is correct at the time of booking
