Celebrate the anniversary of Patrick Brontë’s birth (Saint Patrick’s Day, 17 March 1777) with a guided tour of the Bell Chapel in Thornton at which he preached for five years and in which the Brontë children were all baptised.

Learn more about Patrick Brontë’s work and life in Thornton with local historian and guide Steven Stanworth, churchwarden at St James Church for ten years. Steven formed the Old Bell Chapel Action Group in 1999 – twenty-five years on, Steven is still working with them and is now actively involved with the restoration of the Brontë Birthplace as well.

Steven also helped to design and build the Brontë exhibition inside St James Church, which you’ll get to see as part of the tour.

(Proceeds from tickets will be divided with The Old Bell Chapel Action Group.)
