Celebrating Patrick Brontë: A Dewsbury river walk
Stride out with us to mark the anniversary of Patrick Brontë’s birth and walk in his footsteps following his favourite river walk behind Dewsbury Minster, where Patrick was rector from 1809 to 1811. In partnership with Kirklees Museums and Galleries, we’re offering this steady-paced, guided walk along the river, sharing stories of Patrick’s early years in Yorkshire – including how he saved a boy’s life – and exploring Dewsbury’s links to the Brontë family.
This circular walk should take around 1.5 to 2 hours and is on level terrain, but not all on smooth paths. Please wear suitable footwear and bring waterproofs, water and refreshments if desired.
Proceeds will be divided between the Brontë Parsonage Museum and Kirklees Museums and Galleries.
Please note, this ticket is only refundable if the event is cancelled, in which case we’ll contact you. We reserve the right to make changes to our programme. All information is correct at the time of booking.
