Brontë Society Conference
‘Under an African summer’s sun’ Re-mapping the Brontës: Place, Race and Empire
Join us at our 2025 Brontë Society Conference in Bradford as it celebrates UK City of Culture.
A wide-ranging conference programme spans everything from the Brontës’ Irish identity, to polar landscapes, racialisation, ‘the Question of China’, Africa in the juvenilia and more. We’re also delighted to welcome Professor Corinne Fowler, Professor of Colonialism and Heritage at the University of Leicester, as our keynote speaker.
You can choose to attend the conference in-person or online. A Zoom link will be sent to online delegates in September.
Brontë Society members enjoy discounted in-person tickets. See below for all our ticket options.
A full conference programme, including speakers and timings, can be downloaded below.
The deadline for conference registration is Sunday 10 August.
Please contact [email protected] with any questions about the conference.
