This plain stone building, Haworth Parsonage in Yorkshire, was the home of the extraordinary Brontë family and the place where the unmarried daughters of a clergyman penned the passionate love stories which are classics of English literature. The wild sweep of the desolate moorland surrounding their home was the inspiration for Charlotte, Emily and Anne to produce works such as Jane Eyre, Wuthering heights and The Tenant of Wildfell Hall. The sisters were great animal lovers and among their pets were their two geese, Victoria and Adelaide, seen here exiting left.
